The trials showed that green tea consumption significantly reduces fasting glucose, hemoglobin, and insulin concentrations. The benefits of green tea are many and we should all be drinking more.

Please keep in mind that there are almost no side effects to drinking green tea. However, if you meet the following two conditions it might be best to stay away.

#1 People who take blood-thinning medications particularly the drug warfarin. Should not drink green tea. Green tea contains vitamin-K and can make that drug ineffective.

#2 Generally speaking, green tea contains a small amount of caffeine about 25 to 29 milligrams per 8 ounces cup. Compared to brewed black coffee which contains 95 to 164 milligrams of caffeine per 8-ounces cup green tea does not contain a lot of caffeine. That said people with caffeine sensitivity might want to be careful about their green tea consumption.

Keep in mind that the caffeine content of green tea can vary depending on its place of origin, preparation method, and a brewing time.

And here's a recommendation you can find green tea in powdered form teabags and loose leaf for the best health benefits avoid bottled green tea if it has added sugars. Check the label to make sure no sweeteners like high-fructose corn syrup or aspartame have been added.
